Short Essay for Soft Quarterly Fall 2021
Freelance, October
I don't often reference my heritage or nationality in my writing, but after having lived in three countries so far, I've become curious about the ways in which the languages I speak either limit or broaden my ability to express myself. In this piece, I wanted to make an argument for radical compassion, and create a call to action which hopefully encourages readers to trust each other more than we trust our ability to accurately express ourselves, and to choose empathy even if we struggle to fully understand each other.
